Leading the charge

once-upon-a-time-719174_1920It’s a pretty standard tale these days. Write some short stories… put them together into a collection… get those stories into the hands of readers.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

This can be an especially effective strategy when those stories point to a longer work that’s being written or has already been published. It’s always good to give your fans something else to read or anticipate reading.

One member was wondering if she should use the collection as an incentive for signing up for her mailing list. Or, she pondered, would it be better to upload the collection to Amazon and other retailers with the hopes of selling her stories?

There’s valid reasoning on both sides of that equation, and ultimately it would be a good idea to meet both those needs. But where to start? All members are encouraged to login and check out the advice she has already gotten. And if one strategy has worked especially well for you, feel free to chime in with your own thoughts!
