Do you NaNo?
We do. Or, at least, some of us do.
NaNoWrimo, also known as National Novel Writing Month, is call to writers to attempt to write 50,000 words of fiction in 30 days. As an open challenge, anyone is welcome to participate. And NaNoWriMo fits in well with many of the principles Holly teaches in her courses, including…
- Plan ahead–Having a good idea of where you’re going helps insure that you get there in one piece. Advanced plotting is allowed and highly encouraged.
- Write daily–If you plan to write 50,000 words in 30 days you’ll need to average almost 2000 words per day, so make every day count.
- Don’t edit–Get the words down without worrying if they’re perfect. There will be plenty of time to edit later, once your story is complete.
So, do you NaNo? Log in and let us know if you’re planning to participate! And remember, you only have a month to plan. If you need help with that part, consider picking up Holly’s Professional Plot Outline Mini Course or the Create a Plot Clinic.
